The late-breaking category welcomes abstracts that represent significant research intended to change primary care practice. Abstracts should address a timely, important research question and contain sufficient detail to support conclusions. Clinical trials and high-impact translational research are particularly encouraged for submission. Neither case studies nor case series are accepted for late-breaking presentations. Please note that there is an embargo in effect on all abstracts presented at the AAN Annual Meeting until after the meeting, and authors of late-breaking science presentations should be mindful of this. Failure to respect this embargo may result in AAN sanctions.
In order to be eligible for consideration in the late-breaking category, your research must have a closure date of March 6th or later (12 weeks after the abstract submission deadline). The late-breaking abstract should include a statement justifying why the work could not be completed before the standard abstract deadline, and should be clearly marked as such.
ATC has incorporated for the second year in a row a new late-breaking category entitled “Clinical Trials.” This category invites the submission of research describing clinical trials, and which have results that were not available before the original abstract submission deadline. This is a highly competitive category and only the best late-breaking abstracts will be selected for presentation.
Late-breaking works and demos will be displayed as posters at the Congress (by the presenting author). If you choose to submit a late-breaking work or demo, you must check a box in the submission system that states your understanding that your research will be publicly promoted via the congress website, app and other media channels.
